If the spigot valves are closed, i wouldn't think having a hose connected would make the spigots, the interior house water lines or the water inside them any colder or any more prone to freeze. Wriggle the hose forward and back to remove any debris that's clogging the spigot threads. Unfreezing a water hose, however, isn't difficult.
Doing this may lead to interior water lines freezing and bursting. During times of cold weather, your garden hose can freeze if you leave it outside, especially if water remains inside the hose. See if the water drips from the faucet while the water is flowing and when it shut off.
When your garden hose freezes, the expansion of the water inside your hose can cause holes to form and weaken the lining of your hose. By removing the hose from the faucet you remove the water from the down stream side of the valve insuring that it cannot freeze and thereby expand and crack the valve. Remove any nozzle attachments and let dry before storing it in a circular pattern to retain its shape.
Screw the handle back onto the faucet and restore the water supply to the outdoor faucet and check for leaks. A connected hose that’s full of water keeps the pipe and the faucet itself full of water, which increases the risk of freezing and bursting. After you’ve shut off the valve, remove any attached garden hoses from the faucet.
